Dublin Rape Crisis Centre: Consent Project ? Communications & Events Officer

DRCC CONSENT PROJECT ? COMMUNICATIONS & EVENTS OFFICER

_DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF REFRAMING THE CULTURE AROUND CONSENT IN
IRELAND?_

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is an independent, non-profit organisation
that aims to prevent the harm and heal the trauma of sexual violence.
DRCC are currently developing a new long-term national project to
inform, educate and engage with the public on consent.

This collective reframing of the culture around consent requires a
country-wide conversation about sex, relationships and consent which
is grounded in people?s lived experience. To facilitate this
conversation, DRCC will take a long-term approach, offering different
activities and spaces for different audiences to engage ? this will
include reaching distinct audiences with tailored messages through
traditional media, social media, mediums such as video and out of home
advertising, and through events such as panel discussions, photocalls
etc.

To support our new Consent Project, we are now seeking a committed and
talented person to join us as Communications & Events Officer to
support the communications needs of the project.

THE PERSON

The person will join DRCC?s small but dynamic and dedicated Consent
Project team and will focus on promoting the projects key messages
across communications channels and through public events.

We are seeking a person with minimum two years? relevant
communications experience and with proven competencies across social
media, digital marketing, content creation and graphic
design/audio-visual editing, with strong writing skills and ability to
manage deadlines.

The successful applicant must have a proven track record in managing
both online and in person events ? with ability to manage event
logistics, work with external contractors and think creatively about
how to reach different audiences.

THE ROLE

The Communications & Events Officer will be responsible for outward
communication of the key messages of the Consent Project, in line with
the strategic objectives and with the support of the Consent Project
Manager.

The role will involve development of social media strategy along with
Consent Project Manager and the subsequent social media management to
include content development, scheduling, digital advertising, and
ongoing social media analytics. The role will also involve providing
communications support to the Consent Project Manager and drafting
basic press materials as well as web copy.

The role will also include event scheduling and management. This will
be comprised of a mix of DRCC-hosted events, and mobilisation events
hosted by supporters and collaborators of the Consent Project who
require support and materials to spread key messages.

The Communications & Events Officer will be a central role in the
upcoming national Consent Project and will be heavily supported across
all areas of work by the Consent Project Manager and other key staff
members within DRCC.

Due to the Consent Project being a new undertaking, it is possible
